Ben Reed's Weekly B2B Growth Insights & Highlights | 11th April, 2026

Benjamin Reed's weekly B2B sales, marketing, & revenue insights...in one simple email.

Hey everyone,

This week’s recap saves you time: I’ve distilled the top B2B sales, marketing, and growth insights from my podcast + LinkedIn - so you can scale smarter without the noise.

💭 My Take of the Week

Recently, I've been reading a book called Ikigai by Hector Garcia. The book examines specific Japanese villages in northern Okinawa, Japan, to understand how humans extend their lives.

In exploring this idea of longevity, there is also a deep study of the philosophy and mindset that appears linked to human longevity.

The underlying idea is that a long life is also based upon one's connection to one's own purpose here on earth. It is not simply physical health that matters, but spiritual and psychological health, which actually seems to have an even greater impact. Yes, of course, the Okinawans and those who live long have relatively active lifestyles and eat well, especially by Western standards.

Nonetheless, the core insight of the book is that what each of these individuals has above everything else are two things:

  1. A deep sense of community and connection with the people around them

  2. They have “Ikigai” (a deep purpose)

Think of Ikigai as a Venn diagram that shows what you are good at, what you're passionate about, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for. There are other elements to it, too, but the idea is that there's a meeting of all those elements at the center of the diagram, which is your Ikigai.

Generally, our Ikigai is the thing that we spend most of our time on throughout our lives, the thing that gets us excited when we wake up in the morning, that keeps us going and thirsty for more growth, more adventure, and more creativity in our lives.

Upon reading the book, I considered why I became an entrepreneur and why I do what I do. Over the course of my life, and after a lot of searching within myself, I've found that my ikigai is designing and developing software, applications, and businesses to help people (at least for now… perhaps it will evolve). This concept of Ikigai clarified the “Why” behind my choices and my path to find my Ikigai.

My business journey has taken winding turns over time, from toe-fungus-removal health spas to GTM agencies to oil-and-gas software. There is no clear linear path I have taken. It has been the proverbial “winding road.”

This fact led me to a deeper reflection on where I found my Ikigai. The search was not easy and took me many years. To this end, I've recently been talking to my wife about her own journey, what she's up to, and what she wants to do. She is on her own journey in search of her Ikigai.

I explained to her that the search for one’s Ikigai is actually the hardest search of all (at least it was for me). Because of all the possibilities of what we can be in this world, there are many. How do you choose what’s best for you?

Ultimately, the reason I'm reflecting upon this here is that if you are not clear on what your Ikigai is, or what you should be doing, or could be doing, the thing that would light your soul on fire and make you happy to live life every single day, know that you are not alone.

The search to find such a thing takes time and effort.

The key thing is that you must go on the search. This “search” requires effort, sacrifice, courage, and strong intention. Regardless, there is no other path. If you choose or find the wrong thing, then you'll iterate forward.

The last thing I'll say here is that every single thing that I have tried in the past that was not my Ikigai or my purpose led me to the next insight and the next lesson that led me closer to finding my path. You have to go on the journey. On the journey, seek out mentors, find courses, and find people who will guide you along the way, but ultimately, it is your journey to travel.

💡 LinkedIn Highlights

The Hidden Cost of Fragmented GTM

Your GTM data is scattered across 6 tools and none of them talk to each other. If you run outbound, you already know this.

Hustle Harder Is Terrible Advice

You have a finite number of sunrises left, and you're burning them manually copy-pasting between tabs like a human CSV merger.

Find More Customers Like Winners

60% of your prospecting time is wasted. Here's why ⚠️ You're targeting accounts that don't look anything like your best customers.
The solution? “The data pattern method.”

Build Outbound That Survives Attrition

“Just send more emails” isn’t a strategy.

Here are the 8 things your outbound motion playbook needs to actually scale:

Integration Alone Won’t Save You

This needs to be said more often: If you're running outbound at scale and think data integration is enough, you're not wrong, you're just not done yet. Most founders stop there.

Static Prospect Lists Are Dead

I've watched hundreds of sales teams make the same mistake. They build beautiful prospect lists, then lose track of who they actually contacted.

Here's what's missing:

The New Outbound Data Weapon

30% increased cold email reply rates guaranteed...with this new game-changing cold email dashboard.

The Psychology Behind Great Selling

Steve's trained over 1,200 salespeople and wrote a book to condense 20 years of experience into the fundamentals, the stuff that actually matters when you're in the room with a buyer.

Growth Versus Stability Starts Here

The scale chaser who secretly craves stability will burn out. The foundation builder who dreams of explosive growth will feel stuck. Your business model matters less than knowing which future you actually want to live.

Save Thousands On Lead Data Credits

Never buy B2B lead data twice. Do this instead. As you purchase, scrape, and download B2B lead lists, you need to store the data (and no, not in the CRM).
